High Performance Nickel-Iron-Chromium Category

Incoloy

Material Specifications

Incoloy is a family of nickel-iron-chromium alloys that spans three distinct engineering purposes. The 800 series — alloys 800, 800H, 800HT, 803, 890, DS and HR-120 — delivers oxidation, carburisation and sulfidation resistance with high creep-rupture strength for service up to 1200°C. The corrosion-resistant grades — alloys 825, 925, 945 and Alloy 20 — combine molybdenum and copper with a high nickel base to resist sulfuric and phosphoric acids, chloride pitting and sour hydrogen sulfide environments. The controlled-expansion superalloys — alloys 903, 907 and 909 — hold a constant low coefficient of thermal expansion and a constant elastic modulus for precision gas turbine hardware. Exotic Alloy manufactures the full Incoloy range of bolts, stud bolts, heavy hex nuts and custom CNC fasteners with traceability to ASTM, ASME, AMS, API and NACE MR0175 specifications.

Expertise

Manufacturing & Machining Incoloy

The substantial iron content of the Incoloy family makes these alloys noticeably more machinable than the nickel-base Inconel and Hastelloy grades, but they still work-harden and demand rigid setups, sharp positive-rake tooling and heavy uninterrupted feeds. Exotic Alloy runs dedicated CNC turning centres and thread-rolling machines across the full range, and controls the heat treatment that defines each grade — the 1149°C minimum solution anneal and coarse grain size that give alloys 800H and 800HT their creep strength, and the precipitation age cycles that develop the strength of alloys 903, 907, 909, 925 and 945.

  • CNC Precision Turning & Thread Rolling: Consistent thread form from M6 to M100 and ¼"–4" across every Incoloy grade.
  • Grain Size & Age Hardening Control: Solution annealing to ASTM grain size 5 or coarser for 800H and 800HT, and controlled double-age cycles for the precipitation-hardening grades.
  • Hardness & PMI Testing: Positive material identification, grain size verification and hardness testing to NACE MR0175 limits on every batch.
